Busanga Plains Camp – Northern Kafue – 3 nights – Full Board Plus – Dinner, Bed, Breakfast, Lunch and Activities
The Plains Camp is the seasonal luxury bush camp of Mukambi Safaris located deep in the heart of the famous Busanga Plains in the north of beautiful Kafue National Park.
A wide variety of species is found on the plains including Lion, Buffalo, Hippopotamus, Lechwe, Side-striped Jackal, and Blue Wildebeest. In addition, large numbers of elephants and 500 bird species are recorded; watch for roan antelope and the rare oribi antelope.
The raised boma (communal area), with open campfire and dining area, is rustic, informal and overlooks the openness of the plains, only interrupted by tree studded islands where Fig trees and wild Date Palms draw their nutrients from the remains of giant anthills. Relax and enjoy a refreshing dip in our pool or sunbathe on the wooden deck whilst overlooking the surrounding wetlands. A wooden viewing platform on stilts tucked away high up in the characteristic Fig tree above the Boma offers a breath-taking view directly onto the floodplain.
Busanga, a landscape so distinctive, it is like no other you will see in Africa. This is the Africa you have dreamt of and you can visit this unique area with Mukambi Safaris. It offers a real “home away from home” experience, where service is professional and friendly, yet unobtrusive.

Kaingu Lodge – Central Kafue – 3 nights – Full Board Plus – Dinner, Bed, Breakfast, Lunch and Activities
Set in an area of pristine wilderness, KaingU Lodge offers a magnificent game and safari experience in the heart of the African bush. The lodge is environmentally-friendly, with the architecture of the entire camp and associated buildings designed to blend in and harmonise with the surroundings. Maximum use has been made of existing trees, rocky outcrops and topographical features in its layout and construction, thereby minimising the impact on the original look and feel of the area. The focal point of the lodge is the thatched central area with lounge, dining room and bar overlooking the river. Situated on a high plateau, KaingU enjoys an all-year-round moderate climate and is accessible in all seasons with good road and air access.
Perhaps the greatest feature of the lodge is the absolutely unique river landscape where the lodge is located. It is the only lodge on this unique stretch of river where the Kafue spreads out into a myriad of rocky channels and island before rejoining to flow into the lake. Game drives are usually done in the National Park (a ten minute boat ride away), while boating, canoeing, walks and even lounging in rock pools is also all on offer!

Konkamoya Lodge – Southern Kafue – 3 nights – B&B
With no surrounding fence, Konkamoya Lodge integrates seamlessly into the surrounding bush deep in the heart of Kafue National Park.
Each of the four tents is located on a wooden platform a metre above the ground to deter unwanted guests, while inside accommodation mimics a small apartment, complete with bedroom, sitting room, and bathroom with hot and cold running water and shower: comfort and elegance in nature.
East-facing, all tents look across the breezy lake, with marvellous views of the renowned African sunrise. All around are mahogany, ebony, baobabs…
Electricity is guaranteed by a solar system, lighting up tents, recharging batteries and charging wi-fi while being kind to the environment.
The deep roar of a male lion, the grunts of hippos and the distant coo of a Pel’s fishing owl are the only sounds, along with the chatter around the fireplace after an exciting night drive.
Exploring the wild with Konkamoya’s highly experienced guides is like taking a PhD of the bush.
Chef Paul cooks al dente spaghetti with tomato and basil on firewood, followed by scented banana cake in the underground oven.
The property can be made exclusively available to private groups or families looking for that extra attention to detail when it comes to their trip of a lifetime.
