Gwabi is a fishing lodge situated on the tranquil banks of the Kafue River undisturbed by passing boats. It offers eight en-suite air conditioned chalets, with DSTV and complimentary tea and coffee tray. Rooms accommodate two adults or three in a family arrangement. There is also a large shaded camping ground overlooking the Kafue River, fully equipped with socket points, lights, ablution blocks and braai facilities. At the main lodge there is an open bar with a large outdoor swimming pool. Mutinondo Wilderness lies within Chief Mpumba’s area on the plateau 30 km west of the Luangwa Valley in the Northern Province of Zambia. The area consists of 10,000hectares of privately owned land encompassing pristine Miombo woodland, massive chunks of granite inselbergs, crystal clear rivers to swim in and drink from and picturesque waterfalls and glades (dambos).
It is pure Africa just as it has been experienced for centuries and offers endless opportunities to explore and celebrate nature.
Kapishya Hot Springs Lodge – Ishiba Ng’Andu Nature Reserve – 1 night – HB+
Kapishya is a quiet secluded 6 chalet lodge with 12 beds (families can be accommodated 4 in a room) It is situated on the Estate of Shiwa Ngandu (The Africa House) and is set along the banks of the Mansha river. The main attraction of Kapishya is its natural, sulphur free hot springs. The lodge is 32km off the Great North Road. Kapishya has a fully stocked bar and a restaurant serving high standard international cuisine.
There are various activities available at Kapishya and on the estate. Such as River floats, game drives, visits to the manor house, horse back riding and bird walks. All activities are optional extras and must be pre-arranged with the management at the lodge.
Chishimba Falls Campsite – Kasama – 1 night – HB+
Located near the majestic Chisamba Falls, this campsite offers plenty of shade for adventurers. Popular activities in the area include hiking, guided walks and swimming.
Kalambo Falls – Lake Tanganyika – 1 night – HB+
The impressive Kalambo Falls can be found in the Northern Province, 33 kilometers from Mbala on the Kalambo River, which forms the border between Zambia and Tanzania. This spectacular jet of water falls in a single uninterrupted stream 221 meters down into the gorge below and then on into Lake Tanganyika. They are the second highest falls in Africa and the twelfth highest in the world. The rare Maribou stork nests in the gorge below the falls.
